Favreau still not signed for 'Iron Man 2'

Jon Favreau Iron Man

Jon Favreau had some interesting remarks about ‘Iron Man 2′ on the Howard Stern show. First Stern managed to pull out the fact Jon Favreau got $4 million for directing ‘Iron Man’ plus a percentage of the movies’ profit. And secondly, Favreau still hasn’t signed on for part two. None of the actors have been officially confirmed either.

They’ve all signed for three but it doesn’t work that way,” Favreau said. When a movie beats all expectations, contracts don’t mather anymore according to Favreau. He is basically saying the deals made before ‘Iron Man’ are now old, because the movie is making loads of money. He’s right, you don’t want to piss off Robert Downey Jr. at this point. But a contract is a contract. Even Edward Norton had to do ‘The Italian Job’ after signing a three picture deal before. Maybe Favreau is also looking for a bigger paycheck himself?

  1. Brian Fitzpatrick:

That’s a bummer. I would hate to see the sequels happen without Favs. He was a big reason that the first one was so successful.

  2. Rik:

I agree. He also said he wanted to do the drunken Iron Man storyline. Sounds pretty cool.
