First box office numbers: Knowing, Duplicity and I Love You, Man

Watch video: First box office estimates Transcript:

The first box office numbers are in and they’re pretty much as we expected. The 31% that voted they will see Knowing with Nicolas Cage this weekend, got him at the first place on Friday.

Here are the estimates. Duplicity, with Julia Roberts made $5 million. I Love You, Man made $6.5 million. And Knowing topped with $9 million.

What does this mean for the weekend? Well, Duplicity will probably end behind The Race to Witch Mountain with $15 million. I Love You, Man will make around $20 million. And Knowing will end the weekend with an estimated $24 million.

So Nicolas Cage still has the star-power to bring in a decent amount of visitors. I wouldn’t say the same for Julia Roberts in Duplicity. And I Love You, Man is having a good slash decent start as well. As always, I’ll have the overseas box office and final US numbers after the weekend.

Is it finally time for Gary Oldman to win an Oscar? Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
