Matt Damon in as Jason Bourne in Bourne 4

Watch the video: Bourne 4

Transcript:

Jason Bourne always goes fast and when they said part 4 would be ready in 2010 I thought, sure, that seems feasible. After that, it kind of went dark. For a 2010 release, we should know a lot more about it by now. Well, it turns out, 2010 is not targeted anymore.

The info comes from Twitter, our new medium for breaking news. Producer Frank Marshall said Bourne 4 is targeting a Summer 2011 release. George Noldi, the writer of The Bourne Ultimatum, is currently writing it and should have the script ready by June. “It really take long to get these scripts right! :) ,” he added.

So, no new Bourne in 2010, but better a good movie in 2011, than a rushed product in 2010. It’ll be an important movie in the franchise.

Many deemed Jason Bourne the James Bond of the new millennium. But Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace shows James Bond is still the James Bond of the new millennium. Those movies did a lot better than any Bourne movie did worldwide. Still, Jason Bourne is more popular in the US.

This is because James Bond movies make like 70 percent overseas. The Bourne franchise has less international potential, and makes around 40 percent overseas.

Now if Sony can get a new James Bond ready for 2011 as well, that’ll be an interesting summer battle to follow.

As much as I like the BOURNE movies, I think that the BOND movies are still better. I am more inclined to watch a James Bond movie than a Jason Bourne film. And I can honestly say that the last two BOND films were not riddled with obvious plotholes, like the last BOURNE movie was.
