The Hangover Video Review

Watch the video review: The Hangover review

Transcript:

Hey guys, Tuesday the second I went to the Hollywood premiere of The Hangover. OMG, a Hollywood premiere? Really? Yah. Anyway, I was going to review it for you guys, but then I got the Swine Flu from all the Mexicans over here. Just kidding, I love Mexicans. Actually, I don’t love Mexicans, but I don’t hate them. Yeah, I did get sick though, but as you can see the new studio is almost done. Follow me on twitter to know when I’m updating daily again. Probably next week.

The Verdict

I’m skipping right to the verdict. The Hangover has been out for two weekends. Finishing the review I made would be late as hell. So I’ll just say this. Go see The Hangover. It’s one of the, if not the best comedy in years. Check it out.

Original review:

So let’s talk about the movie. Is it funny? Is it the best comedy of 2009? And is it worth your popcorn?

The Story

Maybe you saw a preview and kinda know what The Hangover is about, but if you’re expecting a Vegas bachelor party, forget it. The movie follows the story of the party, but more like a murder in a crime story. It already took place and everybody slowly finds out what happened.

The fun

The most important thing, is it funny? You got humor, than hell yeah it’s funny.  Director Todd Philips had his big breakthrough with Road Trip and this is kinda like the Road Trip guys ten years later. He did a similar thing with Old School, so he’s had some training. And you could say he’s now nailed the genre to perfection.

The weak

So yeah, overall it’s the best comedy in years and totally original. That’s why I don’t understand why they had to fall back on some clichés. Like the expensive antique car from dad, the casino card counting trick and the controlling girlfriend. It sadly delivers some scenes we saw many times before. Let’s hope these things won’t be the basis for the possible sequel.

The verdict

If you’re on this site you’re probably a cool guy.. or girl. So check out The Hangover. It’s easily one of the best comedies in years and unless you’re easily offended you’ll enjoy it. 4 out of 5.

I saw The Hangover in the theater a few days ago and it absolutely made me laugh on numerous occasions. However I know what you mean with the cliche’s. I had already noticed them and it turns out I’m not alone.

Getting married in Vegas on your bachelor party is a movie joke as old as the city itself (which is, actually, not very old XD). Same with the card counting. I think every movie and TV series based on Vegas has had that plot at some point. It’s overdone by now unless you’re doing an entire movie about it like 21 has done.
