Actors: Dwight Schrute in 'Transformers 2'

Dwight with Transformer

Dwight Schrute, by some known as Rainn Wilson, will have a small part in the new ‘Transformers’ movie. Will Michael Bay actually put some fun into his new $200 million toy project? First Jonah Hill almost made the cast and now ‘The Office’ funnyman Rainn Wilson. “Isn’t that crazy?,” Wilson said. He’ll play a college professor. “A professor that turns into a car that turns into a robot,” he added. Sadly that isn’t true.

‘Transformers 2′ will be shooting in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania June 2-4. Paramount told residents the shoot will include “both camera and military helicopters, large scale pyrotechnics, prop guns and squibs, and large lights.” I’m sure some photos will turn up around that time.

Actors: Jackie Chan wants earthquake movie

Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan almost wanted to quit acting and start doing charity work after the Wenchuan earthquake. But he has now decided to show the world, he says. “Tomorrow we have a big meeting with some directors, some scriptwriters. Why? I want to make the movie about the earthquake because there are so many touching stories,” Chan said at a press conference in London. “Every story I’ve seen just makes me cry…I believe there are so, so many touching stories. So tomorrow we’re going to have a big meeting to see what happens. I want through the movie to show the whole world, I really want to salute the whole army of China, really,” he said.

Obviously, he was very emotional about the whole drama. He wants to make the movie to raise money for the victims. And he already donated $1.57 million himself. Chan was in Europe to promote ‘Kung Fu Panda’ at the Cannes Film Festival, for which he did the voice of Master Monkey. But he isn’t too concerned about Hollywood at the moment. He wants to help the people in China as soon as possible, starting by rebuilding the schools.

Actors: Patrick Fugit to be next Spider-Man?

Just a rumor for now, but Patrick Fugit is apparently topping the list of Tobey Maguire replacements. This would confirm the news last week, about Sony Pictures’ problems with the ‘Spider-Man 4′ cast. Maguire was supposedly offered $20 million to lead in the new ‘Spider-Man,’ but it seems like money wasn’t enough to convince him.

Patrick Fugit is best known for his role as Rolling Stone Magazine reporter William in ‘Almost Famous.’ Second on the list to play Spidey, is ‘The Forbidden Kingdom’ star Michael Angarano. But Fugit seems like a better fit to play the new Peter Parker.

Ewan McGregor joins 'Amelia' and first photos

Ewan McGregor has signed to co-star in ‘Amelia,’ a biopic about Amelia Earhart. Hilary Swank and Richard Gere joined the movie last month and the crew already started filming in Toronto, Canada. Earhart was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and mysteriously disappeared in a flight to the Howland Island.

But the movie will focus on her early years and her affair with Gene Vidal, portrayed by McGregor. Below you can find the first production photos. ‘Amelia’ is targeting a Fall 2009 release.
