Actors: Christian Bale in three Terminators

Christian Bale Terminator

BBC caught up with Victor Kubicek of production company Halcyon Co. at Cannes. His company recently picked up the ‘Terminator’ rights and is currently shooting a new movie in the franchise, called ‘Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.’ But they have even bigger plans with the follow-up of Schwarzenegger’s trilogy. They plan to make at least three new movies and Christian Bale has already signed for all of them.

He’s really an actor’s actor, so we’re very proud. Christian was our first choice and he’s a big fan of The Terminator, so we’re very lucky,” Kubicek said. He was tight-lipped about the whole script. Common and Moon Bloodgood probably don’t even know the whole story. “Not everyone gets to see the script. They only see the part of the script that’s relevant to the job they’re doing,” Kubicek noted.

Actors: Jake Gyllenhaal as 'Prince of Persia'

Jake Gyllenhaal Prince of Percia

Jake Gyllenhaal is going to star in the $150 million ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.’ The game adaptation will be directed by Mike Newell, who also directed ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.’ Gemma Arterton, who’ll also be seen in ‘Quantum of Solace’ this year, has signed for the action adventure too.

The big budget project is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney, with production starting this summer. It really seems like Hollywood is more eager to make movies out of games these days than the other way around.

Actors: Prince Caspian as Dorian Gray

Just one day after his big breakthrough with ‘Prince Caspian,’ Ben Barnes lands a new leading role in ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray.’ It’s based on the book by Oscar Wilde, which is considered as one of the last classic horror stories. Just as ‘King Lear’ earlier today, ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ has been adapted for the big screen a couple of times before.

It’s a story of vanity, where Dorian Gray gets a painting of himself from an adoring painter. And when Dorian’s beauty faints, he soon wishes the painting would age instead of himself. His wish is granted, but it doesn’t come without a price.

Actors: John Cusack in apocalyptic '2012'

John Cusack apocalyptic

John Cusack has signed for the movie ‘2012,’ by blockbuster director Roland Emmerich (’10,000 BC’ and ‘The Day After Tomorrow’). The Columbia Pictures production will be one of the 2009’s summer box office contenders and revolves around the Mayan’s calendar, which ends in 2012. After this, a series of natural disasters develop, threatening human existence.

Although the movie is set to shoot in Los Angeles this July, nothing is for certain with the actors’ strike just around the corner. Harald Kloser, more famous as a composer, co-wrote the script with Emmerich. They also wrote ‘10,000 BC’ together. And we all know how that turned out.
