Judd Apatow, the guy behind the fun

Already past the stage of rising star, Judd Apatow took home a Visionary Award at The Hollywood Reporter’s Key Art Awards last week. If you don’t know the guy, you don’t know fun or it’s just because he’s always behind the scenes. Apatow is responsible for billions in revenue from movies like ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin,’ ‘Knocked Up,’ ‘Superbad’ and ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall.’

He also produced ‘Pineapple Express,’ which comes out August 6.

Louis Leterrier will make any movie Marvel wants

Louis Leterrier Incredible Hulk

At the premiere of ‘The Incredible Hulk’ director Louis Leterrier said he would love to make another Hulk movie. “I’ll do another ‘Hulk’ movie any day of the week. I love it! I love the character, I love the TV show. I love that he’s an anti-hero,” Leterrier said. Well, we know Marvel has a plan for all their movies, which includes a sequel. But we also know Marvel keeps their directors in the dark, maybe to replace them with fresh blood?

In any case, Leterrier will direct anything Marvel throws at him. “I’ll direct anything that Marvel puts out. I’m going to be camping out at the Marvel office to direct anything they want,” he joked.

If the ‘The Incredible Hulk’ tracking numbers are correct, the movie’s box office will guarantee a sequel. But will the Frenchman direct it, who knows.

Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon in new romcom

Ben Stiller Reese Witherspoon

Cameron Crowe has brought together a quite unusual couple, Reese Witherspoon and Ben Stiller. Together they will star in an untitled romantic comedy, just bought by Columbia Pictures. The studio wouldn’t announce what the script is about, but it is written Cameron Crowe, so this probably won’t be your standard love story.

The writer/director, who previously made ‘Jerry Maguire’ and ‘Almost Famous,’ will also fill the director’s chair. He wrote and directed those two movies for Columbia Pictures too.

Sam Raimi will do next 'Spider-Man' if it's good

Sam Raimi Spider-Man

If the ‘Spider-Man 4′ script is any good and Sony wants it, Sam Raimi will be back to direct, he said in an interview yesterday. I don’t know if he means ‘Spider-Man 2′ good or ‘Spider-Man 3′ good, but he’s definitely considering to return. James Vanderbilt is currently writing the script and Raimi is eager to read it.

I think [the script] is going to be done in a few months. I’m hoping it’s as great as our discussions were about it and hoping it feels right for me, because I love Spider-Man, and I’m hoping I’m well-enough rested to, like, really embrace it and hoping that Sony wants me at that time to direct it. So if all those things come together, I would love, love to do it,” Raimi said.

Most of the ‘Spider-Man’ cast signed for three movies and there are a lot of questions about who will be returning. If Raimi returns, he would want the original cast. “Well, I hate to recast anybody in the picture,” he said. “But this is a lot of unknowns about the future,” he added.
