Was it the day? Was it the name? Was it the hype – probably not. It just shows how slasher movies are far from being out of fashion. Friday the 13th just had a great day at Friday’s box office and will have a great weekend too. A not so dull February weekend after all! But how did Clive Owen’s The International do? And what about Confessions of a Shopaholic?

Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a disappointment at the US box office. Especially if you consider the costs – 150 million. The low profile Marley & Me, with ex Jennifer Aniston, had a much better opening in December. And even low budget He’s Just Not That Into You, also featuring Aniston, beat the opening of Benjamin Button last weekend. But overseas, Button is fighting back!
