What is it with Leonardo DiCaprio and biopics? Obsession? Addiction? Or both? After about a dozen of fictionalized biographies, the $20 million a movie star has signed for another one. This time he will play Nolan Bushnell, who invented the Atari video game system in the seventies. As a pioneer, he later sold the company to Warner Communications for $28 million.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way will produce the picture for Paramount, who bought the script just yesterday. DiCaprio is also still attached to a biopic about James Bond creator Ian Fleming and Wall Street mogul Jordan Belfort.

After Amy Winehouse, the ‘Quantum of Solace’ creators have now approached Beyonce to sing the always popular Bond theme. Amy Winehouse’s spokesman confirmed “She didn’t like the track they were working on and felt it was the wrong thing to get involved in.“
John Barry, who made the well known ‘Dr. No’ theme song, is also involved. He was surprised when his music was so frequently used in the 1962 movie, since his payment for the job was rather unsubstantial. But it turned out quite well for the now 74 year old composer. He composed the music for another 11 Bond movies after ‘Dr. No.’

Mars Distribution is bringing the $12 million project to the theaters next summer — and they’re not connected to the candy bar as far as I know.
‘Totally Spies! The Movie’ will be a mix between 3D and traditional animation. “We didn’t want to just make a long episode of the series. Our job is to make a good film for fans and also show parents they won’t be bored.” The series is one of the best rated in the world and airs in an impressive 166 territories. If the movie does well, production company Marathon Media is planning on several other animated features.
