Amy Winehouse not ready for Bond after all

Amy Winhouse James Bond NOT

No, Amy is not doing that James Bond theme as rumored earlier after all. It is true, she and her producer Mark Ronson were working on it, but Ronson now states it would take ’some miracle of science’ to complete the song. I’d say Amy Winehouse knows all about those ‘miracles of science,’ but that might just be me.

When the news broke last week, Ronson was already cautious by saying an Amy Winehouse Bond theme was just speculation. And now he adds the rehab singer is ‘not ready to record any music.’ Is she ever?

The score for ‘Quantum of Solace’ will be composed by David Arnold, who also did the score for ‘Casino Royale’ and the three Bonds before that. The first official glimpse of ‘Quantum of Solace’ will be given by a trailer at the release of Sony’s ‘Hancock,’ July 2.

Amy Winehouse doing James Bond theme?

Amy Winhouse James Bond

The ‘Quantum Of Solace’ theme might be done by none other than Amy ‘rehab’ Winehouse. Producer Mark Ronson told BBC 6Music they were working on a track, but weren’t sure if it’ll actually make the movie.

A spokesman for her record label said, “She has been doing some work in the studio, but [the Bond theme] is speculation, basically.” I wonder if the bigwigs don’t mind connecting the troublesome addict to their $230 million (!) project. Not if it will help ticket sales I suppose.

‘Quantum Of Solace’ is still set for a November 7 release.

New Hollywood trend: on set accidents

G.I. Joe Crash

It’s almost as if Hollywood found a new marketing strategy. Fake an on set accident to get the whole world writing about your movie. In a collision between a bus and several cars, 7 people were injured Saturday on the set of the new ‘G.I. Joe’ movie in Prague.

Last week, a Bond car was driven into a lake in Italy, followed by two more accidents on the set later in the week. What’s going on people? Is everybody in a rush to get their movies done before the actors’ strike?

The accident in Prague “happened in a closed area that was rented out to the filmmakers for the weekend,” the Prague police said. “According to my information, there were only slight injuries,” the production company stated.

See, that’s what happens when you move your movie to a low budget country to make more money.

Bond car takes a dive

James Bond Car Water

On the lighter side of the news (it’s weekend after all), one of the cars being used in the new Bond plunged into an Italian lake. They say the Aston Martin was driven to the ‘Quantum of Solace’ set in heavy rain. Yeah right, someone just took that baby for a little spin. The driver came away with some minor injuries.

‘Quantum of Solace’ will be released worldwide at the beginning of November this year.
